Save file as: UTF-8 or ANSI or Unicode?
Hi,
What is the best choise for: save file as UTF-8 or ANSI or Unicode? Tnx. |
I use UTF-8 without BOM.
|
I think ANSI is better.
Size of UTF-8 is 3 bytes. Size of ANSI is 0 bytes. |
ANSI can also store a maximum of 256 values, whereas UTF-8 contains every character you would ever need. What's about the bytes part?
|
Yoosha, ANSI is 1 byte, UTF-8 has variable character size depending on the char. It inherits the ASCII 0 - 256 characters, which like with ASCII only take up 1 byte per char up to a certain range.
CJK chars (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.) take multiple bytes to represent their symbols, glyphs and characters. |
