Anyone use SQLLite or Real SQL server?

Hi Folks. I'm loving Real Basic that I just bought. I'm getting away from Microsoft as I have too many clients that need solutions for different OS's. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has used RealSQL server? I want to find a host that has it and PHP. Anyone know of such as host?

Thanks
Tim

Hi,

Can't say I've ever used RealSQL, however SQLite is a fantastic, powerful database with a lightweight footprint and very few administration requirements. Installation is also a snap on both Linux and Windows. Also, because SQLite databases are file-based, backups are very easy.

Hi Jason,

Thank you. I've just started using Real Basic which is a Basic like VB language, but compiles for Windows, Mac, and Linux and has an included version of SQL lite to distribute with individual apps, etc,. I love it too so far. It's very dependable from what I can tell and it's a snap to work with as you say. I'm wondering about the pro edition? I ask this because I have an app that I want to use the Internet to house the Database, and I'm thinking of using the pro edition from within an app that I'm going to give away. This app would of course be written in Real Basic and then use the Internet to gain access to the Enterpise version of SQL lite or Real SQL as I think they are the same but one is an advanced enterprise version from what I understand. I'm wondering if anyone else has used the advanced multi user version? I guess it's very powerful and efficient!
Thanks
Tim
