Default Best Web Server for PHP Processing?

Hi, I don't mean to start a fight, but I'm wondering what the best server is for serving PHP scripts on the web? What is everyone's opinion or even better, if you have studies that show why, please send me a link. I'm really interested in knowing if Apache is best along with Linux or Unix, or IIS with Windows or ?

PHP is meant for apache, it was built with it in mind. IIS is an excellent platform and is my personal favorite (I'm a .net guy), but Apache is without question the best platform for php, linux is best to run apache on (simply put, they just play better together than apache and windows).
