Hi, welcome to TalkPHP :)

I would recommend starting with the official tutorial at php.net - PHP: A simple tutorial - Manual and see how you get on.

If you run in to problems or havce questions, feel free to ask

Alan.

I also recommend Tizag, also try some of these tutorials: P2L

To be honest a newbie to a language should never start using the manual always start with tutorials.

The web resources are good, but learning a language was best done in a book for me. I learned PHP from PHP 5 in easy steps by Mike McGrath
