That's a good reason, but still, WAMP allows you to modify all that. :] I am sorry if I'm just directly to the easiest way, but no sense in setting all this setup for hours, when you could get WAMP/LAMPp/XAMPP and install the executable instantly.
To me, the only reason to install manually, is if the Executable gets exceptions. :P or whatever that be >.<
