Basically, just use http s:// instead of http:// on pages that are using SSL.

You probably will not want to use https on every page, because it does tend to be more resource heavy than plain old http.
As for registering and using SSL certificates I'm pretty sure that can all be handled through your domain registrar and web host control panels.
