Projects source control is as simple as updating the issue, IE you can include a current version (what the fixed version is, what bug the version happened in).
Remember, Projects is about assisting with managing bugs, updates, requests. It does not actually hadnle the maintaince of the code. I think it is useful though, because say if a bug is found, in VB, the bug would be listed and could have the following:
affected versions: < 1.2
patched versions: 1.3
bug status: closed
