I having the same problem. I was able to get a work around. What I had to do is copy the script to notepad, save it under a different name and then open up directly into the browser w/ http://localhost:{port}/test.php. I even tried opening the new file through my editor (Microsoft Expression Web), and still no dice. These editors are adding white spacing somewhere, messing everything up.
But that was just me.
